Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky traces its roots back to 1775 and is recognised as America’s oldest continuously operating distillery, having even survived Prohibition by producing medicinal whiskey. Known for pioneering modern bourbon‑making, including climate‑controlled warehouses, it now produces some of the world’s most sought‑after bourbons: George T Stagg, Eagle Rare, Blanton’s, W.L. Weller and the Pappy Van Winkle family.
