Thomas Handy Sazerac Rye 2025 Release
Thomas Handy Sazerac Rye 2025 Release is the barrel‑proof rye of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, a straight Kentucky rye named after the New Orleans bartender who helped establish the original Sazerac cocktail. Aged for just over six years and bottled uncut and unfiltered at 129.8 proof (64.9% ABV), it delivers a vivid, high‑energy expression of Buffalo Trace’s rye recipe, combining raw power with surprising complexity.
In the glass, it shows bright copper colour and a lifted nose of cinnamon, clove and orange peel, supported by caramel, toasted oak and a hint of mint. The palate is explosive and full‑bodied, with intense rye spice, dark chocolate, toffee and citrus, leading into a long, warming finish with pepper, oak and lingering sweetness. This rare, highly allocated 2025 bottling was listed at Blenheim Vintners in very limited quantities and will particularly appeal to collectors and enthusiasts of barrel‑proof American rye and the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection.
