Domaine des Ardoisières is a biodynamic estate on the Coteaux de Cévins in Savoie, founded in 1997 when local mayor Denis Perroux began clearing an abandoned hillside vineyard. Brice Omont and Michel Grisard joined soon after, and Omont now leads the domaine, farming 16 hectares of steep schist terraces across Cévins and Saint Pierre de Soucy. The estate has become one of the benchmark names for serious, terroir driven Savoie wine.

Silice Rouge is made from 100% Mondeuse, sourced from organically farmed vines belonging to growers neighbouring the domaine. The wine is fermented in whole clusters with indigenous yeasts, then aged across a mix of concrete, stainless steel and neutral barrel. Expect a light, crunchy red with wild violet, black pepper and a fresh, energetic finish, closer to Beaujolais in weight but with the spice of a northern Rhône Syrah. Best served with a slight chill alongside charcuterie or light grilled dishes.
