A red hardback journal for keeping a record of the wines you taste. The front has intro pages with a glossary of tasting terms, tips on serving temperatures, ideal pairings and glass types, a look at how wine is made, and useful measures and conversions. After that come six tabbed sections for your own notes: sparkling, white, rosé, red, fortified and sweet, and spirits. Each wine gets a structured page with room for the grape, vintage, producer, region, price, the glass to use, what it goes with and how it looked, smelled and tasted, plus your opinion and a star rating.

It has two ribbon bookmarks, an expandable inner pocket for labels and receipts, and a sheet of stickers to personalise it. At 13 x 21 cm it’s small enough to take to a tasting or a restaurant.
