Mas De Libian Côtes Du Rhône Bout d'Zan

Mas de Libian is a long‑standing family domaine on the stony terraces near Saint‑Marcel‑d'Ardèche, farmed by the Thibon family since 1670 and certified biodynamic, with horses still used to plough and everything harvested by hand. Their hands‑off approach in both vineyard and cellar yields joyful, nourishing Côtes du Rhône wines that feel closely tied to their mixed soils of galets roulés, clay and sand.

Bout d’Zan is the estate’s black‑cat‑named signature red, mainly Grenache and Syrah, destemmed and fermented with indigenous yeasts before ageing in concrete and bottled unfined, barely filtered and with only minimal sulphur. Juicy and inviting, it bursts with black cherry, plum skin, thyme and peppery spice, carrying a wild garrigue edge but also lift and freshness that make it a vibrant, soulful and unpretentious Rhône.
