Banyuls comes from dramatic, terraced vineyards with some of the strictest rules in France: no irrigation, no tractors, everything worked by hand and mule, with the animals themselves born within the appellation.

Expect summer pudding, dark cherry and mocha, with dried herbs, prunes and caramel, in a red dessert wine that’s spot on with blue cheese, chocolate puddings, mince pies or grilled figs.
