Description
Monteleone is a small, family-run winery located on the northern slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily. Founded in 2017 by Benedetto Alessandro, a trained winemaker, and Giulia Monteleone, a food and wine journalist, the estate focuses on organic viticulture and biodiversity. Their Etna Rosso blends 90% Nerello Mascalese with 10% Nerello Cappuccio from volcanic soils at 500 meters altitude. Aged in French oak tonneaux and concrete tanks, it offers vibrant aromas of wild berries, savoury herbs, and floral notes with refined tannins and saline minerality. Elegant yet complex, this wine pairs beautifully with aged cheeses or red meat dishes.
